Bridging History and Science

This project introduced learners to how physics can be used to inform engineering decisions while designing and constructing a bridge. They were exposed to the cultural aspects of bridge design, and the history behind their creation.

Learners were challenged to design, test, prototype, and build a functional scale bridge using materials provided. Concurrently they had to create various presentations that answer formative questions regarding bridges from an engineering, historic, physics, aesthetic, and personal attraction point of view. These presentations allowed earners to express themselves in the most appropriate manner for the material and personal style.  The project culminated in the learners pitching their final design and product to a virtual panel of architects.
