Ayutthaya
The ancient capital of Thailand, Ayutthaya is a fascinating area and a gold mine for history and culture. Families that enjoy visiting historical places will find it to be the perfect destination and it is just one and a half hours' drive from Bangkok.

What to Do
Wander among the remains of great temples and palaces that chronicle Thailand's past at Ayutthaya Historical Park. Highlights are Wat Mahathat, well-known for the Buddha head entangled in tree roots, and Wat Phra Si Sanphet, with its striking chedis.
