Our first VERSOlympics was met with great enthusiasm  It was wonderful to see the entire school community out in the stadium participating in the events. The team colors and house shirts certainly were a hit! Congratulations to the purple Wayu team who ended up with the most points for the day. A huge thank you to Ms. Shanna and the organizing committee for all their efforts. This is a great event to add to our VERSO traditions!

We had our first fire drill of the year yesterday and it was a great success. We timed well below our required time to get to the muster point. I would like to thank all of our faculty and staff for their commitment to student safety. We have one more drill planned for early second semester. And a final drill with the fire department planned for the end of semester two.

Early Dismissal Day

I would also like to give a reminder about our Early Dismissal Day on November 27. Learners will be dismissed at 1:30pm. The early dismissal initiative centers around increasing the opportunities our Learning Design Team is able to meet as a whole school. Those learners who are enrolled in ECAs on these Wednesdays will stay at VERSO and be transitioned to their ECAs. For those learners who are not enrolled in ECAs we ask that they be picked up at 1:30pm so that our Learning Design Team can begin their meetings on time.uld like to wholeheartedly thank them for all they have done over the years for VERSO.

Future School Learning Festival 

The Future School Festival is taking place on Nov 23, 2024 at VERSO from 10am - 1pm. This event is being co-hosted by Reactor Schools and is FREE! Learners will have the opportunity to learn about entrepreneurship pathways and explore future careers. There will also be sessions for parents too!

VERSO HACK 2025

VERSO HACK 2025 tickets are now live! The VERSO HACK will be held on Saturday 8 February - Sunday 9 February 2025 at VERSO, with a Pre-Hack day on 1 February 2025. The HACK is for learners aged 13-18.

EduTech Asia Conference at Singapore

Last week Dr. Rolly Maiquez and I traveled to Singapore to represent VERSO at the EduTech Asia Conference last week. Rolly had the opportunity to sit in on an expert panel regarding AI and the future of education. Here he was able to share some of the best practices that are in place at VERSO and our journey with the use of AI. I moderated a panel discussion on assessment and real world skill development. Here I was able to share our VERSO learning structures such as learning lab and explore.

As we continue to grow, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to each of you for the role you play in shaping and strengthening our community. Your support and involvement are invaluable in helping us build a school that reflects our shared vision and values.

While our community expands, our priority remains clear: we are dedicated to our learners and to fostering an environment where they thrive. Every step we take is guided by our commitment to their growth, well-being, and success.
