Dear VERSO Community,

WinterFest is around the corner! I hope that all of you can join us for this exciting tradition as we celebrate the end of the first semester here at VERSO. For those who may not know, Winterfest is a celebration filled with music, food, games, lots and lots of prizes, and a few surprises too this year! Please join this community event on Friday 13 December, from 12:00pm - 3:00pm at The Arena. Below are some photos from our last WinterFest event.

Last Saturday we celebrated our Future School Learning Festival here at VERSO. This event was put on in partnership with Reactor School. We had over 50 guests on campus who came to learn about entrepreneurship pathways and to explore future careers. The event was also an opportunity to showcase our beautiful campus! Thank you to all who participated, especially our learners, for showcasing their work at the event.

Last week, the International Schools Association of Thailand (ISAT) celebrated its 30th anniversary, culminating in a special event on Saturday to honor the organization's three-decade history and the contributions of international schools in Thailand. The honorable Supamas Isarabhakdi, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation of Thailand (MHESI), was in attendance and spoke to the diverse landscape of international schools.

“Children not only receive academic education according to the curriculum, but also learn to accept and respect different opinions and adapt amidst diverse cultures”, she shared. The keynote was delivered by Intercultural strategist Dr. Derrick Gay, who was also recently at VERSO, and will be returning in May.

OPEN HOUSE: 3 December 2024

Our Open House is next Tuesday 3 December and we’d love for you to share this special event with your friends and family. Invite them to visit our school, meet our wonderful staff, and discover what makes our community so unique. We also have a panel discussion where they can hear from our parents, learners, and Learning Designers on their diverse experiences at VERSO - this is a great opportunity to showcase everything we offer!

VIPERS Mascot Update

This week we had a VIPERS Mascot Meeting with Upper Loop house captains, parents, and staff. The committee went through over 70 sketches and drawings of mascots. Once the finalists are announced, the committee will reconvene to review the top choices and update the community. Stay tuned!

I would also like to give a reminder about our Early Dismissal Day on November 27. Learners will be dismissed at 1:30pm. The early dismissal initiative centers around increasing the opportunities our Learning Design Team is able to meet as a whole school. Those learners who are enrolled in ECAs on these Wednesdays will stay at VERSO and be transitioned to their ECAs. For those learners who are not enrolled in ECAs we ask that they be picked up at 1:30pm so that our Learning Design Team can begin their meetings on time.uld like to wholeheartedly thank them for all they have done over the years for VERSO.

Lunar New Year 2025

VERSO will be celebrating another important event, the Lunar New Year in Jan 2025! To assist us in planning this event effectively, please complete the brief survey below as we are looking for volunteers to run some activities and booths.

Important Reminder: Proper Use of Recycling Bins

The environmental sector of VERSO’s Activism Club who are currently working with

Trash Lucky, an external organization that rewards people with prizes for recycling, have noticed that there has been an increase in non-recyclables in the recycling bin at the front of the school.

Here is a reminder of what you can recycle with the Trash Lucky Program.

Trash Lucky

And here’s another friendly reminder on what does not count as recyclables.

Trash Lucku - what not to put in rubbish bins

  • Plastics: cups, food containers, and utensils codes 1 and 6
  • Egg crates and all types of foam
  • Non-stretch plastic film such as non-stretch plastic wrappers, dishwashing liquid pouches, and food wrappers.
  • Items outside of the “accepted” list in the first image above

Please label your bag or boxes of recyclables with your full name and Trash Lucky ID (which you can get via the Trash Lucky LINE). Let’s work together to ensure we’re recycling properly and reducing waste. Thank you for your efforts in making our community a greener place!

URGENT: Five Tiny Lives Need Your Help!

Lastly, I would like to ask for the community's support with some stray dogs that have come into our care here at VERSO.

Ms Maria Pannakan, our ML EAL Learning Designer, is working around the clock to save these precious souls, but medical costs are mounting and these brave pups need urgent care and your support makes all the difference!

Nong Verso

How You Can Support Ms Maria's Mission:

  1. Make a donation for medical costs (QR code in article or promptpay 0909821912)
  2. Contribute supplies: pet training pads, a/d Hills urgent care food (or equivalent),  puppy chews, toys, old towels and blankets for their cage isolation
  3. Offer isolation space if you have a suitable garden or land
  4. Share their story to help find forever homes once they recover
  5. Consider covering a specific puppy for the costs of their treatment or aftercare

Read more here to see how you can help save these little fighters through your donations.
