ML Muster: That's a Wrap! Happy Holidays and Thank You!
Dear Middle Loop Learners & Families,
Thank you for taking the time to catch up on what we have been up to in the past few weeks. We say this every year... "Where did the year go?" Time flies. Before we head out to a relaxing holiday break, we want to share some of the things we've been celebrating to cap off a great year.
The whole theme of this Muster is centered around transitions. The current Grade 4s had 2 transition days to connect with C5-6. There have been different engagements offered so the Grade 4s get a sense of what the ML experience is like. We also held a parent session to introduce the ML team and share a brief overview. We are excited to welcome some new faces and energy to the ML.

House Mascots | Building Community
Once again a big thank you to our VERSO community for sharing your feedback regarding our VERSO House mascots. We received 103 responses and Set A was the overall favorite with 41.7%.
The next steps is for the design team to develop the Set A concept and then share once again on the final design. We have taken the feedback on and will make some changes to improve the design even more
In terms of what we name the houses, the responses were quite close. We are discussing what to name each house, keeping our host country Thailand in mind and that one of our pillars is personal and cultural identify. Once we have the final design concept, we will share with the community next school year. We will then go through a process for learners to nominate to be House Captains to offer leadership opportunities and strengthen the school community.
We appreciate your contributions in shaping this process together. We are one huge step closer in revealing our VERSO House mascots.
ML Fun Run| C7-8
The ML participation in a 5km or 3km fun run serves as a powerful exercise in building resilience, challenging both mind and body. This endeavor teaches learners the value of perseverance and the importance of finishing what they start, instilling a sense of accomplishment and self-efficacy. Engaging in such physical challenges not only strengthens their physical stamina but also cultivates a growth mindset, encouraging them to overcome obstacles and setbacks.
The psychological benefits of this experience are profound, as learners learn to manage stress, set goals, and push beyond their comfort zones. These skills are transferable to all areas of life, fostering a resilient attitude that supports academic, personal, and future professional success. It all begins with and builds around mindsets.
ShowTime|C5-6
"How does the diverse range of foods in different cultures reflect the unique traditions, values, and lifestyles of communities around the world?"
Learners explored different cultures around the world, compared worldwide communities with local communities, and explained the interrelationship between the environment and community development.
People around the world have their own unique traditions, from daily household responsibilities and family holidays to religious and historical ethnic customs. Many of these traditions center around food and its preparation. Food is a central element of culture around the world. Next year, we have decided to have the following ShowTime events to optimize learning.
2024-2025 ShowTime for Middle Loop
Q1 | 7-8 ShowTime | Learning Lab
Q2 | 5-6 ShowTime | Learning Lab
Q3 | 5-6 & 7-8 | 3-Way ConVERSOs
Q4 | 5-6 & 7-8 ShowTime | All workshops and labs of the ML program
We believe this new approach will provide a deeper insight into all aspects of the program in a more balanced way.
PERFORMING ARTS| ECA
The performing arts ECA for Lower Loop and Middle Loop learners at VERSO have flourished through a student-driven approach, emphasizing the value of self-expression and creativity. By actively participating in acting, learners gain confidence, learning to articulate their thoughts and emotions effectively. The last ECA group size was 6, this time around it was 12 ... we're growing! Thanks to Sarah Donaldson for making this a focal point in our ECA program.
This immersive experience in performing arts not only hones their public speaking skills but also fosters a sense of empathy and collaboration. As learners take on various roles and navigate diverse scenarios, they develop a deeper understanding of themselves and others, nurturing their creativity and preparing them to face real-world challenges with assurance and poise.
C7-8| Escape Room
The C7-8 at VERSO marked the end of their school year with an exhilarating visit to Escape Room, a puzzle challenge that emphasizes teamwork, communication, and collaboration. This engaging activity provided a unique and memorable way for learners to celebrate their time together. As they worked in teams to solve intricate puzzles and unlock clues, they honed their problem-solving skills and strengthened their ability to communicate effectively under pressure.
These ongoing experiences not only deepens their bonds but also highlighted the importance of cooperation and mutual support. This fun and interactive transition day served as a powerful reminder of the value of collective effort and the joy of overcoming challenges together, reinforcing the strong sense of community within the cohort.
Grade 8| Graduation Dinner
As our Grade 8 learners complete their final year in the Middle Loop, we extend our heartfelt wishes for their continued success as they transition to the Upper Loop. Our time together has been special and the friendships made long-lasting.
For those moving on to other schools and countries, we hope their time at VERSO has been marked by immense success and personal growth. We are proud of their achievements and excited to see the incredible futures that await each one of them.
Grades 4-5-6| Transition Fun Day
Our Grade 4, 5, and 6 learners' day at the movies, followed by lunch, is more than just a fun outing — it's a valuable opportunity to foster relationships and build connections. As learners from different grades interact, they develop social skills and form bonds that ease their transitions within the school.
These shared experiences create a sense of community, helping learners feel more comfortable and supported as they navigate new academic and social landscapes. By engaging in activities outside the classroom, they learn the importance of collaboration, empathy, and effective communication, laying the foundation for strong, lasting relationships that will support their growth throughout their educational journey.
