WinterFest 2024: A Season of Joy and Celebration!
We are thrilled to announce our WinterFest 2024, taking place on Friday, 13 December from 12:00PM to 3:00 PM. This magical celebration will be held in and around the Arena and promises to be a festive, fun-filled day for all! Our learners have been eagerly preparing to showcase their talents, and we are excited to create lasting memories with you.
‼️To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, please take note of some important logistics, especially for our Lower Loop learners:
WinterFest Details and Guidelines
1. Dismissal Time and Lunch
- Learners will enjoy a shared lunch or their regular lunch before dismissal. (Learning Designers will be sharing more details around this with you)
- Dismissal for learners will take place between 11:45AM and 12:00PM.
- Learning Designers will escort Lower Loop learners to the Lower Loop Foyer for dismissal.
2. Pick-Up Procedure
- Upon arrival at the Lower Loop Foyer, learners will be handed over to parents or an adult registered by parents for pick-up. A separate email will be sent on Monday for you to confirm this.
- Please ensure your child is signed out with the Learning Designer before leaving the foyer.
3. Entry to WinterFest
- Lower Loop learners must be accompanied by an adult to attend Winter Fest. In order to facilitate this learners who are not being supervised by their own parents or guardians will be issued with a wristband indicating the adult that was listed as taking care of the learner for WinterFest.
- This measure is in place to ensure their safety and enjoyment during the event.
Let’s Celebrate Together!
Your active participation in WinterFest is more than just a celebration; it’s a chance to create treasured holiday memories with your child. We deeply appreciate your cooperation in following the guidelines to make this event a success.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to Khun Most or Khun Oui at the HELLO office.
Thank you for being an integral part of the VERSO family. We look forward to sharing the holiday magic with you on Friday, 13 December!
C1-2 WOW Park BTW - Understanding Light and Sound
Our Beyond the Walls visit to WOW Park was nothing short of incredible and tied perfectly to our recent Learning Lab explorations of sound and light. The experience brought science to life, leaving our learners in awe and excitement.
A highlight of the trip was the interactive science show, where learners had the unforgettable opportunity to experiment with flammable gas to create fire in their hands. Shouts of “Look, I have fire on my hand!” echoed as they witnessed this thrilling experiment firsthand.
The park’s exhibits added even more layers of discovery. Learners:
- Played with shadows and observed lightning effects
- Explored optical illusions to understand how light behaves and how animals see
- Observed cloud formation, simulated tornadoes, and learned about the Earth’s rotation in fun and accessible ways
This immersive experience not only deepened their understanding of scientific concepts but also sparked fresh inspiration for our upcoming classroom ShowTime.
WOW Park truly brought learning to life in the most exciting and unforgettable way!
Cohort 3-4 BTW to ROOTS: "How Have Successful Businesses Evolved Over Time?"
This week, Cohort 3-4 embarked on an exciting BTW to ROOTS, a thriving local business that brought our Learning Lab to life. Learners have been exploring the “Four P’s” of marketing—Product, Price, Place, and Promotion—and this visit provided an inspiring case study on how businesses adapt and grow in a competitive market.
At ROOTS, learners discovered how the business overcame challenges and implemented key strategies to achieve success. They then put their knowledge to the test by creating their own pancake businesses! Working in small teams, learners:
- Developed Materials Lists: Thought critically about profit and loss while shopping efficiently for their supplies.
- Designed Products and Promotions: Created pancakes tailored to their target audience and prepared booths with thoughtful decorations and promotions.
The experience culminated in a special judging session with Chef Johnny, ROOTS’ founding expert chef and menu creator, and Khun Tae, ROOTS’ owner. They evaluated the pancakes on taste, creativity, consistency, and booth presentation.
The learners’ enthusiasm, teamwork, and entrepreneurial spirit were evident throughout this interdisciplinary challenge. This hands-on experience offered invaluable lessons in business evolution and marketing strategies while fostering creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving.
Many learners left with new insights and inspiration for their own budding business ventures!
A heartfelt thanks to Cohort 3-4 parents, Fuu and Tae, for organizing this incredible learning opportunity for our learners!
