ML Muster: Q1 VERSO 360 Reports
Dear Middle Loop Learners & Families,
Quarter 1 VERSO 360ts | Friday 1 Nov
We are pleased to inform you that your child’s Quarter 1 VERSO 360° Report will be issued and sent to your email on Friday, 1 Nov. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us before Wednesday, 6 November 2024. We will be archiving your child’s Q1 VERSO 360° Report on our database and modifications or revisions cannot be made after this date.
Please carefully review the contents by referencing the ‘How to Guide’ in your child’s quarterly VERSO 360° report. This information will outline competency-based education and our assessment criteria of how it all comes together from quarter to quarter and year to year. The final page is an executive summary of your child’s attendance record for quarter 1. The duration for Quarter 1 is from 14 August to 11 October 11, 2024. Learner attendance for each quarterly report will be cumulative of the total days learners were present for learning.
Please take the time to review your child's Quarter 1 VERSO 360° Report and have a conversation about their learning and the feedback that has been offered by Learning Designers.
Halloween Dress Up Guidelines (31 October)
Costumes:
Please choose positive, fun, and creative themes for your costumes. Consider favorite book characters, animals, mythical creatures, historical figures, or inanimate objects.
Weapons & Imitation Weapons:
No weapons or imitation weapons of any kind are allowed, even if they are clearly fake or part of a costume. This includes but is not limited to swords, knives, and guns.
Offensive Language & Imagery:
Costumes should not include offensive or inappropriate language, symbols, or gestures. This also means avoiding costumes that could be seen as mocking or making light of serious issues, controversial figures, or sensitive topics such as politics, war, and violence.
Social & Cultural Sensitivity:
Please avoid costumes that might be considered culturally or socially insensitive, inappropriate, or that could be seen as mocking or demeaning another person's race, religion, culture, or heritage.
Dressing up is entirely optional—learners are welcome to come in their usual attire if they prefer. Let’s make it a fun and festive day at VERSO!
VERSO Olympics| Community Building
Thank you so much for joining us at the VERSOlympics and cheering on our learners! Your presence and support made the day even more special for the learners, motivating them to push themselves and aim higher. These individual events provide valuable opportunities for our learners to set personal goals, challenge their limits, and strive to beat their own records. Your encouragement plays a big role in fostering their confidence and resilience, and we are truly grateful for your continued involvement in their journey of growth and achievement.
Thank you to everyone who organized and supported this event. Ms Shanna and Mr April invested a lot of time and energy in preparing the learners for this event through their Well-Being lessons - Thank You! The House Shirts looked great and we hope to capitalize on more House competitions and opportunities in the near future.
Bus Safety Training | A Life Skill
We provided bus safety training to equip learners with the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively in the event of an emergency. This training is vital for ensuring that learners are prepared to act quickly and responsibly, whether it's a bus evacuation, an unexpected hazard, or another urgent situation. By building awareness around safety procedures, we help foster a culture of preparedness that extends beyond school, empowering learners to handle emergencies in any environment. Promoting this awareness not only keeps learners safe but also reinforces the importance of being vigilant and proactive in the face of unpredictable challenges.
English ECA | Love of Language
Before the October break, we helped organize a parent coffee morning to discuss a potential opportunity for some of our learners to join the British Learning Centre. We decided that this service would be better served during the weekends.
We are delighted to announce that Maria and Traci will be offering a Tuesday and Thursday ECA from 3pm - 4pm during Q2 for our EAL learners in the ML.
This ECA will be called Love of Language LOL. Learners have already been identified to be part of this ECA to offer greater support. We hope to continue this in Q3 too. Maria and Traci will communicate with families directly about the LOL ECA for Q2.
