HoS Highlights: Wrap Up of Another Exciting Week
Dear VERSO Community,
We have had a very exciting week this past week with our Spirit Week festivities. Thank you to the organizing committee for coming up with such creative ideas to demonstrate school spirit!
Congratulations to the U19 boys basketball team who won their game at our homecoming celebrations, and thank you to our MCs, and those who performed at the game. Although our first VERSOlympics has been postponed, it was great to see all the new house T-shirts this week. The new date for the VERSOlympics is Wednesday, 9 October. House shirts are for sale for learners and for parents, please use this ORDER FORM or contact the Front Office to order one.
During our first early dismissal day, our Learning Design Team had the opportunity to work on a variety of committees related to curriculum areas. This provided cross loop collaboration time that is usually difficult to find. We appreciate your support with our early dismissal days this year. A reminder that the next early dismissal day will be Wednesday 27 November 2024.
Our Wai Kru ceremony was held on 19 September. This special event provided us an opportunity to honor our Learning Design Team, who demonstrate their dedication to our learners on a daily basis. A big thank you to our Thai Learning Design Team and Khun Tonhom for organizing this event.
The first Head of School coffee morning was a great success. Thank you to those families who attended the coffee morning. It was a wonderful opportunity to share what is next for VERSO. There are great things in store this year and beyond! If you missed it, you can use the link below to see the slide deck or video: https://verso.schoolbox.cloud/
Thank you to the entire community for their support with donation to Bangkok Community Help Foundation. There was almost 1 ton of goods donated to families affected by floods in the North. It was incredible to see the community rally to support this cause in such a short amount of time!
To continue the spirit of Nam Jai, VERSO will be collecting donations for children of all ages to support the Childline Thailand Foundation, commemorating World Mental Health Day. Last year, we filled two tuk-tuks with donations for children in need. This year, we're aiming even higher! Join us in making a difference in young lives across Thailand. Donations are being collected now until 10 October. We are looking for the following items: stationaries, developmental toys, used Electronics, clothes and shoes, seasoning for cooking, dry food, and toiletries.
Our first Open House is next week, Thursday 3 October and we are looking forward to a large turnout of families interested in hearing more about our school. We will have our learners and alumni speak at the event. If you happen to be on campus during the event, please don’t hesitate to drop by Connect and meet some of the prospective families.
And a reminder to please continue to keep an eye on your Gmail inbox for announcements of events and important emails from the school and to follow our official LINE account @ versoschool.
Have a relaxing weekend.
Best regards,
Dr Ryan Persaud
