VERSO graduates are offered a dynamically personalized learning experience that inspires them to discover their passions, talents and interests. Through the VERSO experience, they will develop the skills and mindsets needed for the future, ensuring that they are equipped for the changing nature of life and work.
VERSO graduates will inherently know themselves and have a well developed understanding of what is important to them.
VERSO partnerships with selective universities around the world and the delivery of advanced topic courses will provide VERSO students with unique credit options. Our graduates will make outstanding candidates for universities and the new world of work.
Universities are already responding to the need to change entry requirements, by asking for student portfolios and face-to-face interviews to replace traditional scores. As a result, VERSO graduates will be front runners to present unique and competitive profiles to all universities across the world.
As a member school of the Mastery Transcript Consortium™, this partnership ensures that VERSO graduates are best placed to identify their skillsets and also predict the best kind of pathway for their future learning.
VERSO is a member school of the Mastery Transcript Consortium™ (MTC). This is a growing network of schools in the United States and internationally that are introducing a digital high school transcript which will reflect the unique skills, strengths and interests of each student. Universities around the world are now accepting this new transcript as it truly reflects how the students learn. We are currently the first international school in Thailand to join the MTC.
Mastery is about developing and demonstrating skills and understandings rather than simply remembering facts. For example, in Mathematics, mastery is about applying mathematical reasoning to solve a problem or explain a phenomenon, not the memorization of equations and the recall of theoretical concepts alone.
VERSO is determined to reflect and celebrate the unique individuality of each child. Together with other highly progressive schools around the world, VERSO is playing an active role with the MTC in redesigning how students prepare for college, career and life. By putting a greater emphasis on skills and capabilities rather than traditional grades and scores, VERSO is part of a growing community of schools redesigning the success metrics for students.
The MTC model organizes credits into broad interdisciplinary domains known as ‘Credit Areas’. Within each credit area there are opportunities for students to develop skills, habits of mind and content knowledge. Learning across all the credit areas ensures balance.
We have carefully designed and customized each of these six credit areas to specifically fit VERSO’s purpose. Each credit area has a question and a guiding statement to orientate students in their learning journey. Collectively, these credit areas create long-term transfer goals for all students at VERSO.
Each credit area has three or four ‘Apprentice Credits’. Apprentice Credits are achieved through demonstration and documentation of evidence across time. Students pursue Apprentice Credits as part of their Learning Lab time.
Students also work towards achieving ‘Mastery Credits’ of their own choosing in their independent Explore projects. The evidence that is curated as a result of each credit earned, serves to help students distinguish themselves as individuals. Upon completing their schooling career, this powerful evidence of learning can be used to support college, scholarship and employment applications.
