HoS Highlights: November Notes and Updates

By Ryan Persaud / November 10, 2023 / Head of School Highlights

Dear VERSO Community,

I'm delighted to announce our second HoS Coffee Morning, scheduled for Wednesday 13 December 2023. During this second coffee morning I will be sharing further details about my vision for VERSO, and the direction of the school. This will include information regarding the school wide action plan, and how this aligns with the WASC process.

We're gearing up for an exciting month with plenty of upcoming events. One notable highlight is Loy Krathong, which holds special significance for my family and me as it marks our first time celebrating this enchanting Festival of Lights. We'll join in the tradition of floating krathongs to symbolize new beginnings and express our gratitude on Friday 24 November. In addition to Loy Krathong, we have our annual Parents vs. Staff basketball match scheduled for Wednesday 29 November from 4pm to 5 pm. If you're interested in participating, please sign up using this link: LINK.

VERSO’s first Book Week and Fair, will take place from 13-17 November 2023, beginning with a talk by National Thai Artist in Literary Arts, Ajarn Makut Onrudee, who will speak the magic of reading followed by a talk by our EAL specialists Maria and Munira, and a Book Fair.

Check out the posters at the end of this newsletter for more details.

The excitement doesn't end there as preparations for the Winter Fest on Friday 8 December are in full swing. We're thrilled to announce that we'll have approximately 40 booths, including food trucks and stalls, a variety of product vendors, engaging activities and games, a Lucky Dip, giveaways, and much more! Keep an eye out for further updates next week as we finalize the details. A HUGE thank you to the parents that have been involved with the planning for this event.

Our Early Years students celebrated Diwali, the Indian festival of lights today. It symbolizes the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. We captured some wonderful moments.

Additionally, we had the pleasure of hosting a special guest, Nattapak Atichartakarn, CEO and Co-Founder of Trash Lucky, during our Coffee Morning. Thank you to  VERSO's Environmental Club for hosting our guest, and bringing the Trash Lucky recycling program to our school. You can find more information about how you can participate in the Trash Lucky program here.

We look forward to your continued participation and support in our upcoming events, and please feel free to share any thoughts or suggestions you may have as we continue to enhance our community experiences. Thank you for being a part of the VERSO family!
