Our Lower Loop Halloween Parade this year was nothing short of fantastic! It was truly heartwarming to see so many families join us in the morning for a parade of spooktacular fun. The spirit of Halloween was alive and thriving as learners, parents, and educators came together to celebrate in style.

I do hope that this Lower Loop Latest finds you all well. We have had a great week here in the Lower Loop with lots of discovery and play taking place.

We're excited to send to you today our Quarter One Learner Reports, offering a holistic view of your child's progress and achievements in their own personal learning journey. These reports provide you with a 360-degree perspective on their development, highlighting not only their accomplishments but also areas where they can excel further. We believe that this comprehensive approach to reporting empowers both you and your child to understand and contribute to their educational growth effectively.

The 'How to Guide' will outline all the key information you need to know about how we assess and evaluate learning. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child's Community Time Learning Designer.

Halloween

Our Lower Loop Halloween Parade this year was nothing short of fantastic! It was truly heartwarming to see so many families join us in the morning for a parade of spooktacular fun. The spirit of Halloween was alive and thriving as learners, parents, and educators came together to celebrate in style.

The creativity and enthusiasm on display were nothing short of amazing. From ghostly ghouls to pint-sized vending machines, our learners brought their A-game when it came to their costumes. Thank you very much to you as parents for facilitating and supporting the learners with their costumes.

Informal Parents Information Sessions

We're excited to inform you that our Learning Designers will soon be sending out valuable information regarding opportunities for you to come together and connect with them. These sessions are designed with a singular purpose in mind: to offer you a deeper understanding of your child's daily experiences and educational journey at VERSO.

We understand the importance of a strong parent-educator partnership in supporting your child's growth and development. Through these sessions, we aim to bridge the gap between home and school, enabling you to actively participate in your child's educational experience. You'll have the chance to engage with our Learning Designers, ask questions, and gain insights into the curriculum, teaching methods, and the progress of your child.

We hope that these upcoming sessions will provide a valuable opportunity for you to connect, share, and know more about your child's daily life at VERSO. Learning Designers will be sharing information with you via your VERSO email soon.

EY4-5 Outdoor Classroom Day

This week, our Early Years 4-5 learners joined forces with Happy Grocers and Little Legends to celebrate Outdoor Classroom Day!

But what exactly is Outdoor Classroom Day, you may wonder?

It's a global initiative that occurs on 2 November that encourages schools, educators, and inquisitive young minds to step outside and embrace learning in natural settings. Under the guidance of Penny, our visiting snail expert, the EY 4-5 students embarked on an enthralling adventure, delving into the captivating world of snails through three interactive learning centers.

From the excitement of hunting for snail food to the wonder of observing their unique habitats and feeding these delightful creatures, the outdoor workshop was an educational journey filled with curiosity and fun.

This engaging provocation aligns with our ongoing Learning Lab theme, 'Design for Belonging.' Within this theme, our children are actively participating in the transformation of both their indoor and outdoor learning spaces. Keep a close eye on our progress, as our young learners are bubbling with ideas about the innovative outdoor learning centers they aim to create for themselves and our wider VERSO community.

C1-2 Showtime "Lively Planet Thailand"

Just before we went off to October Break, C1-2 hosted a collaboration recently with ‘Little Legends’ where they worked in teams to create a very special design challenge for the learners.

Each of these purpose built tasks came with the challenge of building a famous Bangkok landmark using a range of loose part materials. Before this purpose built experience, learners spent two weeks researching and learning about these landmarks and then put this knowledge to use by building a smaller scale model of the landmark.

These fantastic models were then displayed as part of their stalls within the ‘Showtime’ to showcase all of the fantastic the learners had worked on in Quarter One.
