EY4-5 Visit to Taco Lake
EY 4-5 had a wonderful trip to Taco Lake with the Starboard Eco Team, who taught them about the incredible significance of mangroves. They learned that Bangkok was once a vast mangrove forest. Mangroves serve as natural air purifiers, are habitats to a diverse range of species, and are superheroes that protect us against natural disasters such as tsunamis and storms. The learners also learned about what types of animals live in these amazing forests and together created their very own mangrove habitat on paper. They got very inspired and really want to grow their own mangrove forest to help the planet!
EY4-5 Visit with Ms. Lily from Mindful Sparks
Last week, EY4-5 enjoyed an insightful visit from Miss Lily of Mindful Sparks. She shared valuable lessons on cultivating a healthy soil, highlighting the importance of elements like water, sun, bugs, and more. Our young learners engaged in three exciting workshops ranging from nature mindful coloring to planting beans that are now flourishing in our space. They also explored the school's surroundings, uncovering dry and less-than-healthy ground, which prompted them to reflect on the importance of nurturing our environment.
C3-4 BTW visit to Veganerie
In our ongoing commitment to promoting health and well-being, our C3-4 learners recently embarked on an exciting field trip to Veganerie as part of our Learning Lab. This unique experience not only allowed them to savor the delights of a plant-based feast but also offered valuable insights into the world of financial literacy, a crucial aspect of running a successful business.
During their visit, our learners had the privilege of meeting Khun Jiji and her daughter Khun Ja, the passionate owners of the Veganerie franchise, and Mr. Paul Narula, the visionary founder of the Bangkok International Vegan Association (BIVA). These inspiring individuals shared their personal journeys towards adopting a plant-based lifestyle and shed light on the numerous benefits associated with such a mindful choice.
The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the scrumptious and nutritious meal prepared for our learners. From refreshing Butterfly Pea juice to a delectable spread featuring caesar salad, spinach sticks, mushrooms and cauliflower, dumpling soup, mac & cheese, and a delightful vegan ice cream for dessert, every bite was a celebration of flavors and well-being.
We believe that experiences like these not only enrich our learners' understanding of health but also provide them with valuable lessons in financial literacy, setting the stage for a holistic and informed approach to life.

C3-4 Elements of Health with Ms. Lily from Mindful SparksAs part of our health and well-being Learning Lab in quarter 3, C3-4 welcomed Ms. Lily from Mindful Sparks to help us understand two elements of health, namely mental and emotional health and self management. We learned and practiced different ways to be mindful and aware of our bodies, our thoughts, our emotions, and our actions. We can better regulate and manage our thoughts, our words and our actions when we have mindfulness strategies, such as movement and deep breathing, to do so.

Thai Culture Class: What's Cooking?
In our Thai Culture Class, we delved into Thai history through the art of cooking. Over the past two weeks, students spanning from EY2 to C4 had the opportunity to explore the flavors of Phad Thai, one of the top three dishes foreigners aspire to try in Thailand. Interestingly, Phad Thai has been a culinary favorite since World War II! What makes this experience even more captivating is that each ingredient hails from popular products unique to various provinces across Thailand.
What's truly fascinating is how learners can relate these famous dishes to their own experiences and, at the same time, engage in hands-on cooking. This hands-on approach allows them to craft their own culinary narrative. The beauty of learning through cooking lies in the fact that learners not only prepare the dish but also taste their own creations. Some may have never tried Phad Thai before, or they might not have been fond of it, but when it comes to their own cooking, the enthusiasm and enjoyment were unanimous!
