Dear VERSO Community,

We are on the cusp of our Hackathon weekend here at VERSO!

We have 120 students from over 35 schools participating. Last weekend was our VERSO Pre-HACK event, where our participants had the opportunity to meet each other and find out who their teams were. Additionally, they  participated in icebreaker games and went through a session to learn about the Design Thinking process.

While the participants were getting warmed up for the VERSO HACK, the parents had a session of their own in Connect. There were a number of prominent speakers, including Dr. Prompt Udomdech, Head of the Department of Architectural and Design Intelligence at KMITL who spoke on nurturing passion in children for sustainable tech, and a dynamic and engaging panel discussion on the future of work and emerging tech trends including Assoc Prof Dr. Pipop Udorn from Thammasat University, Mr. Amarit Charoenphan from Harbour Space University, University of Thai Chamber of Commerce, and Dr Pin Pin Tea-makorn, Technical Advisor at Edsy. Thank you to VERSO parents who attended and supported the event.

 

This weekend is VERSO HACK 2024 and we could not be more excited! In its fourth iteration, this year will be bigger than before. A great deal of thanks goes to the planning and execution from IBEO and the VERSO Marketing Team. So many months of planning have gone into what will be a transformative experience for our participants. I would like to thank our sponsors for the event, Bitazza and King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. The final pitching round for VERSO HACK is open to the public. Please join us on Sunday 4 Feb at 1:30pm in the Arena. Please be reminded that Monday 5 Feb is a special school holiday for the hackathon. 

Our Lunar New Year event will take place on Friday, 9 February. There will be loop specific events in the lower and middle loops in the morning, and our whole school event taking place from 1:00pm-2:35pm in the arena. I hope that you can all join us for what promises to be an exciting celebration for our community. We have lots of entertainment planned for the whole school event. We are looking forward to another great semester of learning and look forward to seeing you on campus.

I would like to invite all of you to our Coffee Morning taking place on 14 February at 8:00am to meet with Rusydi Khairul, CEO of Reactor School  to speak about our current plans for the VERSO Venture Center. Reactor has worked with over 300+ high schools and 80+ universities around the world. We are excited to hear about potential opportunities for our learners to advance their skills in entrepreneurship, innovation, social impact, and sustainability.
